What did Norco Music mean to you?

Norco Music was the beginning of everything for me. It’s where I first realized I could take something I love and turn it into a future. Without Norco, I honestly don’t know where I’d be—but I know I wouldn’t be as happy or having as much fun as I am now.

Favorite memory from your time here?

Working NOMU Fest in both 2023 and 2024 is at the top of the list. Running sound for inthebackground for the first time totally rocked my world—and mixing for one of my best friends, Bobby Rigo, the following year was unforgettable. Those are memories I’ll carry with me forever.

What are you doing now?

I’m currently studying audio engineering at CSU Dominguez Hills, and I’ve also started learning how to DJ and produce my own music.

Biggest challenge you’ve faced?

Balancing school and life has been the biggest challenge. There’s so much I want to do creatively and professionally, but those ambitions don’t always align with academic responsibilities. Learning how to prioritize and when to pivot has definitely been a journey.

A moment you knew you were on the right path?

I’m lucky to get little reminders from others that I’m heading in the right direction, but the moment it really clicked for me was holding a vinyl copy of Helix. Seeing my name on the back, knowing how many hours I poured into that album—it grounded everything. I knew then that this was what I wanted to keep doing.

Project you’re most proud of?

Outside of the NOMU albums Helix and Luna, I’m especially proud of Red Eye with Emilio Cole. That was my first job outside the Norco Music circle where I was trusted and hired to mix and master. Working with Emilio was incredible, and I think that track might be some of my best work to date.

How do you stay inspired?

By surrounding myself with creative people. Being around passionate musicians, DJs, and engineers keeps me energized. I want to contribute to what they’re doing—not for credit, but just to be in that space. That kind of environment is contagious.

What advice would you give current Norco Music students?

Trust the process and dive headfirst into your passion. Make friends. Collaborate. Fully immerse yourself—growth doesn’t happen until you do. And don’t be afraid of discomfort. It’s easy to get comfortable, but the real breakthroughs come when you push past that. The more you embrace discomfort, the farther you’ll go.
