What did Norco Music mean to you?

Norco Music meant a lot to me. It was the foundation for so many opportunities, experiences, and meaningful connections. For me personally, it was where I got my first real shot at becoming a true artist.

Favorite memory from your time there?

There were so many laughs, tears, and unforgettable moments, especially writing songs with my friends. If I had to choose one, it would be the first time I performed my original music with a full band in the theater. So much effort and heart led up to that moment—and it felt like it all paid off.

What are you doing now?

These days, I’m still surrounded by music—just more behind the scenes. I lead the Creative/Production ministry at my church full time. At least once a week (usually more), I’m running a soundboard for worship teams, speakers, or special events. Occasionally, I still lead worship and play. Since graduating, I’ve explored nearly every corner of the creative arts—from film production and writing worship music to graphic design and social media content creation. It’s been exciting to discover new ways to express my creativity, and I’m always curious to see where Jesus leads me next. Will it always be in the church? I don’t know—and that’s okay.

What’s been your biggest challenge?

Honestly, myself. I think that’s one of the biggest challenges any of us will face. It’s easy to blame others—or even God—for the things that go wrong. But at some point, we all have to make a decision: will we keep running from life out of fear of rejection or failure? Or will we keep trying, even when nothing seems to come from it? That internal battle has held me back more than once. But I’ve learned not to let hustle culture or imposter syndrome consume me. If you’re meant to be somewhere, you’ll get there. And if not, maybe God’s just leading you somewhere better.

How did you know you were on the right path?

Because it came naturally. I believe I was blessed with a creative mind and gifts—and I plan to use them as long as I can.

What project are you most proud of?

Definitely the first EP I released with my band Adventurist, called Cold Hands. So much heart went into that project, and I think it shows. I’m also proud of the work I did with Days Before Fiction and our Kaleidoscope EP. EDM and electronic music are a big love of ours, and I think that really came through in our sound.

What keeps you inspired?

First and foremost, my faith in Jesus. And second, the love of my wife, Mary. I don’t think there’s a greater motivator than that kind of love.

Any advice for current Norco Music students?

Don’t give up. If you want to be a songwriter, great—write songs and share them. If you want to be a filmmaker or photographer, awesome—start shooting. If you want to be a professional artist or gamer, get to work. Your growth depends on your effort. We live in a time where anything can take off at any moment, especially with social media. So market yourself. Be patient. Have faith. Make sacrifices. And most of all—keep trying.
